Dr. Beasley's primary interests are in the areas of pathology, pathogenesis, and etiology of diseases. Over the years, he has conducted research on several disease processes. Dr. Beasley did the early work with Marek's disease and identified the natural methods of the spread of the disease. Other research involved turkey hemorrhagic enteritis, mycotoxins and bursal disease. Dr. Beasley's recent studies were focused on the pathology and pathogenesis of proventriculitis in broilers. He retired from the UA Poultry Science Department in June 1995.
