The Appropriations Committee of ASG oversees a budget of approximately $230,000 a year to allocate to various Registered Student Organizations. This is done through a series of funding rounds, of which there are three held for each academic year. The first is held in April of the year before, and money for this is to be spent during the fall semester. The second is held in Fall Semester, usually during October or November, and is for money to be spent during the spring semester. The third and smallest of the rounds is held in early Spring Semester, January or February, and is for money to be spend after Spring Break. For each of the rounds, a member of each RSO interested in applying must attend a mandatory “How to Apply for Funding” meeting the week prior to that during which budgets are due. All budgets are to be submitted electronically to the email address asgrso@uark.edu before the deadline set by the Appropriations Committee. If an RSO requests $1000 or more during a funding round, that RSO must appear before the Appropriations Committee for an interview in which the details of the request are reviewed and questions that may be had by committee members can be asked of an RSO officer. Interviews must be scheduled by the RSO before the end of the day on which budgets are due. The interviews are on a first come, first serve basis, and the sign-up sheet can be found in the ASG Offices. Specific times during which interviews may be scheduled will be determined as the budget submission deadline draws near, and will depend upon the availability of members of the Appropriations Committee.
