Dear Editor:
I am writing this to say many of the Non-Christian
religious in the school are being excluded from the school
function educationally and in society.
I understand the constitution states that religion is
not apart of school function or educational system. I
believe that learning about the different religions of the
world is necessary to rid the world of religious blindness,
not to force a religious change in a person. It should be
the choice of the individuals to choose their religious
beliefs, not those of a teacher, pastor, priest, government,
or any other person.
Learning about the religions of the world shows that
there is not one and only one religion in the world but
many. In different countries the religion may be different
from your own religion. The majority of the religious
belief differ from country to country. In America the
majority is Christian, but it is not the only religion
here. We have the Jewish, Pagan, Buddhist, and many
others. I here people say if you are not Christian than you
are lower than them and will burn in place where the
Christian devil is.
I can not say that I am religiously educated in all the
religions of the world, but in some religions they don't
have what the Christians call the devils' reigning place
an example I can give is my own religion which is the Pagan
religion called Wicca. People of the Wicca religion do not
believe in a devil. Letting people know my religious
beliefs does not embarrass me, why should it? It is just as
good as yours.
If all the Christians Bible thumping their religion in
the school and in the society can spread there beliefs, so
can everyone with a different religion other than the
majority of the Americans beliefs. If these people of the
different religions are not allowed the right like the
Christians are than the Christian should have to stop too.
I would like to say this before I sign off that I am
not against any religion. People just need to look at the
fact that people have different beliefs. If they respect
you than you should respect them. They are a person just
like you.
Sincerely,
James Hill
