   Congratulations! Only by entering chaos can you hope to find
   enlightenment. Here before you is a wealth of knowledge. This FAQ is
   designed to guide you through the primary stage of becoming a magician
   who is able to practice magick.
   
     * The Magician's Journal
       Buy a binder that you will use for the soul purpose of recording
       magickal notes. An electronic notepad is great but expensive. A PC
       isn't portable unless you have a laptop. Write, "Magickal Journal"
       in the inside and put some paper in your binder and you are ready
       to begin. Learn the terms used by magicians and define them for
       yourself to meet your personal needs. Change the definitions when
       new and better ones are discovered. Write them again and again in
       your magickal diary. The loose paper will be needed to organized
       this stuff.
       
       Here are examples of possible magickal definitions.
       
          + Psy
            This is the energy that vibrates between thought energy and
            tangible energy.
            
          + Psy Shell
            This is the egg shaped, protective field of psy around every
            person.
            
          + Psy Points
            These are small areas on the human body that change the
            frequency of psy to perform specific tasks.
            
          + Magick
            This is the art of turning ideas into reality with the aid of
            psy.
            
          + Rites
            These are routines for generating and programming psy to
            create a spell.
            
          + Spells
            These are programmed packages of psy that turns a specific
            desire into reality when executed.
            
          + Sorcery
            This is the art of storing spells into objects, words,
            gestures, potions, powders, etc, for later use.
            
     * The Magician's Will
       As a magician, you must continue to condition the self esteem and
       personal will. Write in your magickal diary these questions.
       
          + Who am I?
            Be totally honest with this one and list as many virtues as
            you have vices.
            
          + Who am I becoming?
            Only list constructive attributes that you wish to aquire.
            Affirm the virtues you wish to keep.
            
            Know that to change for the better and evolve, is one of
            life's main missions. We live so that we might learn to live
            better. This is how to change for the better.
               o First, we must desire to change.
               o Second, we must know how to change.
               o Last, we must actively change through constant
                 relaxation and practice. We train our muscles and our
                 minds to master control of ourselves which is vital if
                 we are to use magick.
        
            
          + What do I have?
            List all of your possessions, titles, your occupations, and
            loved ones here. Affirm that none of these define who you are
            but help you to live a better life.
            
            
          + What do I want?
            List all of your dreams and goals for a constructive future.
            
            Know that all humans need these things in order of critical
            importance.
               o We need to breathe fresh air.
               o We need to drink fresh water.
               o We need to eat healthy foods.
               o We need shelter.
               o We need to understand and be understood.
               o We need to feel useful and loved.
               o We need to accomplish our goals.
                 
          + What is my mission in life?
            List a few things that you feel is vital to you're being here
            on earth. If you have no mission, find one. Know that boredom
            brings about death by suicide. Keep occupied!
            
     * Meditiation Spells
       As a magician you will practice spells of protection and
       meditation every day.
       
          + Alertness
            Lay down on your back and tense all of your muscles while
            counting from ten to zero. At zero, release all the tension
            and visualize a warm yellow force enveloping and relaxing you
            more. Close your eyes and don't move even to scratch. Then
            say to yourself. "The more my body relaxes the more my mind
            becomes alert." Occupy your mind with random thoughts and try
            to stare at the blackness of the backs of your eyelids. Try
            to hear the internal dialog. When the hypnogogic visions and
            sounds materialize, follow them into a lucid dream. Remaining
            still is the key to this spell.
            
          + Lucidity
            Say to yourself three times per day, "Am I dreaming or
            awake?" Test the environment and respond. If you fly, say
            "Yes," and take control of the dream. The most powerful
            magick can be practiced in this state. Record all of your
            dreams in you magickal diary. When falling back asleep,
            recall the last dream and vow to take control of it. Say
            before sleep; "I will recognize I am in a dream while
            dreaming and take control of it." Use your dreams to
            establish repore with your subconscious. Your subconscious
            can educate you on the things that you are not consciously
            aware of yet and are important for your well being. Know that
            the most recent visual and audible stimulation that you
            encountered when awake, are the easiest tools for the
            subconsciousness to communicate with.
            
          + Dream Friend
            The subconscious takes many forms to teach us what is vital
            for the conscious to become aware of. The subconscious takes
            the form of an animal who represents the beneficial powers of
            the lower functions. It personifies as a human to guide us in
            improvement as the Anima or Animus. It becomes the Shadows
            who critique us and correct us when we fail. And the
            subconscious becomes the Higher Being, who shows us what our
            potential might be.
            
          + Archetypes
            These are some possible explanations of the characters that
            we may encounter within a lucid dream.
            
               o Dream Characters
                 Our subconscious takes the form of an animated creature.
               o Ghosts
                 Other beings who are discarnate visit us in our dreams.
               o Ancestors
                 Our past lives or the past lives of others guide us in
                 some way.
               o Aliens
                 Beings from other planets who take an active interest in
                 our affairs.
                 
     * Protection Spells
       
          + Psy Castle
            Visualize a light blue force coming from your index finger.
            Trace a circle clockwise as if you were tracing a clock from
            12, 1... to 12 again. Do this starting before your head and
            ending there. Say, "I have reinforced the castle that expels
            and repels all that is malevolent to me and absorbs and
            retains all that is benevolent to me."
            
          + Psy Armor
            Visualize a light blue force coming from your index finger.
            Start before your head again and trace down to your right
            knee, then up to the left shoulder, then across before the
            right shoulder, to the left knee, and back before the head.
            Say, "I have organized and balanced the benevolent forces
            within for greater success."
            
     * Basic Sorcery

          + Sorcery
            The Key to using a psy point is as follows. If I was in a
            situation where I had to run for my life because the building
            I was in was going to blow up by some Dennis Hopper wannabe,
            I would perform this sorcery. I would focus my attention
            above my kidneys until I physically felt a phantasmal coin
            press into that area. I would visualize a red glow coming
            from that area to envelope my psy shell which looks like a
            giant egg around me. Then I would intone the words; "activate
            reaction. " I would intone this command or any other nonsense
            words that I don't use on a regular basis. You don't want
            someone setting off a spell by speaking the right words. If
            someone were in a car with me driving and decided to say;
            "Hey Ren, activate perception." I might have a wreck because
            my waking senses might be hampered by my altered state of
            consciousness.
            
          + Psy Charge
            This is how to charge your psy points. We generate energy by
            absorbing psy from nature around us. You can charge your psy
            shell as much as needed by doing this. Breathe in and
            visualize white energy coming from the sky in through your
            head. Breathe out and visualize black energy coming from the
            ground in through your feet. At the pause between in and out
            breaths, visualize your aura shimmering with blue if you wish
            to stay cool, or yellow if you want to stay warm. Visualize
            the color you are most comfortable with as being your "core"
            color.
            
     * High Magick
       Learn basic high magick and create a magickal personality.
       
     * Magician's Vestments
       Find a piece of jewelry to wear only when you wish to perform
       magick. Only wear the costume you have designated as part of your
       magickal personality during a rite. All of your magickal artifacts
       should only be used during a rite. Pick a magickal name for
       yourself and use it when dealing with beings in a lucid dream.
       
     * Magician's Study
       This is any place that is hidden from the view of others. Indoor
       locations are prefered. The magician should not be disturbed. The
       answering machine will be set at low volume. Shades and curtains
       will be pulled to let in as little light as possible. Working by
       candle light is prefered.
       
     * Magician's Circle
       Why do we need to have a circle, alter, and evoke the elements?
       The circle represents the division between the self and the
       external world that the conscious draws. Everything inside the
       circle is supposed to be beneficial to us. Everything outside the
       circle is said to be unknown. The alter is like a compass that we
       use to orient ourselves to nature's rhythums. We must sing the
       song of nature and dance the dance of nature if we are to practice
       magick. Evoking the beneficial elements into our circle,
       symbolizes that we are gathering the beneficial powers and
       attuning ourselves to them so that we might be successful. The
       magicians's circle can be constructed by placing a staff in the
       center of the place where an outdoor circle is to be placed. A 9
       foot cord is attached to it, and a sword is attatched to the other
       end. A perfect circle is traced in the dirt by moving clockwise
       about the staff. Place 12 large stones equally about the cut
       circle and paint Aquarius in the magnetic north stone. Then paint
       the symbols of the other stones moving clockwise. Indoor circles
       can be constructed by placing a tied cord on the ground and
       placing pictures of the zodiac symbols facing outward on the
       outside of the circle.
       
     * The Magician's Triangle
       To summon any creature from the astral or dream world requires
       focus so that it's form may materialize before you. This is how
       you do it with the aid of props. Construct an equalateral triangle
       by drawing one on some material to be placed upon the ground
       outside your magician's circle. A base should be before you and an
       apex should be furthest from you towards a flat surface such as a
       southern-most wall. Draw a circle within the boundaries of the
       equalateral triangle and place a dot in the center. You should be
       able to comfortably sit in it yourself. Place a rock on the base
       line of the triangle and place a candle and holder/shield, at the
       apex of the triangle. Conjure all spirits,hostile or friendly into
       this triangle after lighting the candle. Do not permit the
       materialized spirits to move beyond the boundaries of the
       triangle. Do not step into the triangle for any reason after it is
       constructed.
       
     * Magician's Alter
       It is a symbol for the philosopher's stone. The philosopher's
       stone is a perfect six sided cube that contains the secrets of
       nature. But inside are the dark aspects of the magician's mind.
       The magician must encounter this chaos before the golden
       enlightenment. The alter is a three by three by three foot table
       covered with a white cloth. The tablets and artifacts are arranged
       on the surface of the alter in a way that suggests that through
       the magician's tools, real results can be accomplished.
       
       The first set of tablets are 9 and fit together like a puzzle. The
       symbolism here is that the mind creates reality. The graphics
       should be drawn in place of the lables.

       The second set of tablets are 16 and fit in the center octagram
       square. They represent the focus of the will of the magician upon
       the goal and the gathering of resources to accomplish that goal.

       The artifacts are placed on each square in a specific order and
       position. The elemental creatures dwell in the corner artifacts
       and empower the tools on the sides of the alter.

       How to Construct an Alter
       Purchase the artifacts from any store. Draw the symbols on cheap
       cloth to be placed on top of a card table. A sheet can be cut into
       9 equal squares to be placed upon a white table cloth. Take one of
       the 9 squares and use it as a template for left over material.
       Make another square and cut that one into 16 equal squares.

          + Elemental Gates
            The magician stands on the north side of the alter in front
            of the plate. Elementals are evoked into the artifacts
            starting in the east. A magickal gate is opened for them by
            tracing a unicursal pentagram in all four directions.
            
            Evoke the Slyphs Example
            Starting by facing the east, the magician takes the knife
            artifact and traces a pentagram clockwise from the magician's
            view. Begin on the right arm of the pentagram and end there.
            The Salamanders are evoked by starting in the right leg of
            the star. The Undines are evoked by starting in the left leg
            of the star. And the Gnomes are evoked by starting in the
            left arm of the star.
            
          + Pantheon Gates
            The magician stands before the alter, inside the circle,
            facing south away from the candle and incense. A unicursal
            hexagram is used to summon the pantheon of archetypes that
            will help fuel your spells. Spirits from any tradtion can
            enter through the hexagram gates. Spirits from the fifth
            world of Creativity are conjured upon the upper most point of
            the elemental gate and are concerned with spells of
            creativity and skill. The others are summoned clockwise in
            this order. Those spirits from the Sun Sphere are conjured by
            tracing the unicursal hexagram, clockwise starting at the top
            point. They are concerned with control over everything.
            Saturn in the upper right concerned with stability and
            fertility. Venus in the lower right is concerned with balance
            and healing. Moon at the bottom point is concerned with
            perception and learning. Mars at the lower left point is
            concerned with fighting and escaping. Jupiter at the upper
            left point of the hexagram is concerned with purification and
            attraction.
            
               o It is possible to decipher which spirits are from the
                 subconscious construction and which are from the
                 collective subconscious by simply observing the
                 creatures that enter the gates. The elementals and
                 Pantheon of my subconscious look like angelic beings who
                 are young adults of super hero attributes. The Undines
                 are dressed in modern comfortable clothing and work for
                 Water Inc. This is a complex located upon a blue planet
                 within the dream world. Jupiter is the CEO. They are
                 interested in the aspects of my life that increase
                 attraction and purification in the world. So, in return
                 for a spell that might make me more attractive to the
                 public, I might start to conserve water. It is a sound
                 business deal.
                 
               o The other spirits that can be conjured that don't come
                 from your mind are unpredictable to say the least. Yet
                 they are more powerful. Requesting the presence of Greek
                 Diana might summon the thoughts and beliefs of an entire
                 culture in one persona. Who knows what she may ask in
                 return for a favor to you.

     * The Magickal Rite
       The magician begins by finding a magician's study. Then the
       magician puts on the magician's vestments. The magician's circle,
       triangle, and alter is then constructed. Perform Psy Castle, and
       Psy Armor. Summon the elementals through the Elemental Gates.
       Summon the archetypes that will help you to charge your spell,
       through the Pantheon Gates.
       
     * Sympathetic Magick
       Then the magician can focus on sympathetic magick. Sympathetic
       magick involves the use of tools such as pictures, action figures,
       yarn and ribbions, as well as colored napkins.
       
     * Sigils
       All of the traditional sigils found within books will work. A
       sigil is a visual symbol for words or short sentences that convey
       a goal. Pull out a loose paper that you will keep in your
       Magician's Journal and do this. Write in a short sentence anything
       you desire most. Such as "I want to be financially independent."
       Construct one by taking all of the repeat letters out. I want o be
       ficly dp. Then over lap the letters in CAPS to form an interesting
       mosaic. Observe the mosaic and draw from it a picture that makes
       sense. I want to be ficly dp. might look like a head that is
       sticking it's toung out. Stare at the picture until you memorize
       it and you can see the image of the sigil when you close your
       eyes. Place it in your Journal and forget about the spell until
       your wish comes true. When it does, record the results on your
       work page.
