Mount Shasta from Weed, California
We left
Crescent City on August 19, 1995, drove north up Hwy 5, looped
through
Oregon and came back down to Weed, California where you can get a great
view of Mount Shasta and Black Butte Mountain from the local Taco Bell.
Right next to the Taco Bell is a convenience store where you can buy
T-shirts that say "I'm high on Weed, California". So, here I am
traveling through California, sick as a dog... then Mount Shasta
loomed in the distance... And as suddenly as the sickness had come (back
in Los
Angeles after eating those chili cheese fries at
Venice
Beach), it was gone. I was no longer sick... It was a miracle...
